Fix your Summer Hair Woes

Heat + Humidity + Sweat = Hair Behaving Badly

Summer calls for heat, humidity and sweat. The result is the most expected; that is bad behavior by hairs. Well all want to enjoy beach get-together in summers, but hate what summer weather does to our hair. This summer, say goodbye to your summer woes and say hello to the healthy and lively hair. Whatever is your hair type, following are some of the most common hair problems that we face in the summer season. It’s time to fix them up and also show them who the boss is!

Summer Hair Woe # 1: flat, straight and Lifeless Hair
lifeless hair

If your hair are flat and fine, the heat of summer weather may make them limp. When the fine hair exposed to humidity, the moisture of the air settles on the surface of this type of hair, instead of penetrating down the roots. As a result, the humidity will weight down your hair.

How to fix it?

The best solution is to fix this problem by adding volume at the roots by using anti-humidity hair spray. One of the good options is V05 Max! Hold Fast Drying Hair Spray. To give your hair a lift-up look, divide the top layer of your hair into four sections and lift each section at the roots. Carefully spray underside the layers of hair onto the roots and leave it for a minute to let it dry. Gently back-comb each section and style up your hair.

How to prevent it?

Though, using anti-humidity may be an instant solution to address this problem, but to prevent this issue you need to lay off the heavy styling hair products. Most of the women think that dousing your fine hair with voluminizing sprays will be a great idea to combat limpness. However, the  Idea is completely reverse, as these products cause buildup at the roots and will flatten your hair even more in the humid weather.

Easy Solution – Protein Treatment

The permanent solution for flat and fine hair is to bulk them up with protein. Having fine hair means your locks lacks protein, which actually gives your hair body and helps them to hold a style in humidity. To add protein to your tresses, you can use a protein enriched shampoo and conditioner at least twice a week. However, the more effective way out will be applying a super nutritive protein-enriched hair mask that you can easily made at home. For this you need
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Half lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
Mix all ingredients well in a bowl and massage well into scalp, working from roots to tips. Cover it up with a disposable shower cap and let it work for at least 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and rinse it well. Clean your hair with an organic shampoo. You will feel a lively bounce in your lifeless hair.

Summer Hair Woe # 2: Greasy Hair
greasy hair

In summer weather the sun will be grinning at you with all its heat and will bring sweat on your scalp. The sweaty scalp will cause a boost to sebum or natural oils to ride and spread throughout the hair, making them look greasy. The situation gets even worse with the styling products, as most of them are water soluble. As your scalp sweats, it break them down until they no longer work and you style will fall flat too.

How to fix it?

You can fix this problem by sprinkling hair powder on the scalp to absorb excess sebum. You can try Hair Fix powder and apply small amount to the roots and give it a minute to settle. Then comb through your hair to remove any excess. If powder making your hair look dull, you can add a quick finish and shine with a shot of hair spray.

How to Prevent it?

Wash your hair less often. Though, it sounds counter-intuitive, but it’s true. Daily washing causes your scalp to overproduce the oils to replace the natural oil you are washing away. The situation becomes worse by overdoing during washing. Scrubbing your scalp vigorously will also encourage it to produce more oil. the better approach is to allow shampoo to sit on the hair and scalp for one minute. After rinsing, apply condition only at the ends.

Easy Solution – Clarifying Treatment

You can treat greasy hair by this wonderful and easy hair mask. You can use simple  vinegar or apple cider vinegar in this recipe, as they are great to maintain and regulate the pH of your scalp’s skin and help reduce oily hair. You will need
  • 4 tablespoons of Baking Soda
  • 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Water to make mixture

Step 1:

First you need to mix baking soda with water until it becomes a paste. Apply this to your hair and leave it for few minutes. This will remove all the excess oil and impurities from your scalp. Rinse it off and prepare for Step 2.

Step 2:

Add vinegar in 1-2 liters of water and rinse your hair with it. This simple recipe will make your hair look shiny and manageable, while removing all the dirt and excess oils from the scalp.

Summer Hair Woe # 3: Puffy and Frizzy Hair
frizzy hair treatment

The heat of summer snatches all the moisture from your hair and sometimes your hair would resemble a steel-wool pad. Mostly, curly, wavy, coarse and chemically treated hairs are often deprived of moisture. As a result, the cuticles on each strand are raised, making the hair spongy. This type of hair absorbs moisture from the air, which make the tresses swell up giving them a big unwieldy look.

How to fix it?

You can fight this frizz by applying a moisture-blocking or anti-frizz styling cream or serum. Try anti-frizz serum, always choose the products with silicone or oil to smooth and slightly weigh down your frizzy locks. Take 2-3 drops of serum and rub between your hands and work it through the strands.

How to prevent it?

Getting the right hair cut can prevent this problem. The layers cut will add volume and encourage more frizzes in the summer. Instead, choose a blunder cut, which holds down the ends and reduces the puffy factors. Keep your hair hydrated by taking oil treatment and using moisture enriched shampoo and conditions.

Easy Solution – Moisture Treatment

By using just two ingredients you can combat with the frizz of your hair by moisturizing then and serving them with excellent conditioning treatment. This easy homemade hair mask recipe will bless you locks with a natural sheen. You will need
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1-2 teaspoon of almond oil

Cover it with shower cap and let it work for at least 15 minutes. Wash off the mask and enjoy the smooth and shiny hair tresses.
